Sir,

I have laid before the Earl of Derby your letter of No. 2057. of the 11th instant, containing some observations on the subject of Lord Lyons' despatch No 150 of the 16th ultimo respecting the French Commercial treaty with Annam, and suggesting what steps should be taken in the event of the French Government persisting in adhering to the terms of that treaty.
